The Gayatri is a prayer towards Universal Intelligence.
Its purpose is to light the power of discernment to allow man to analyze himself and realize his divine nature. It is preserved as a relic in the “Vedas”, the most ancient scriptures of man.
The term “Gayatri” comes from GAYAntam TRIyate iti, which means: “That which preserves, protects or saves from corruptibility, the one who recites it”.
Sai Baba said: “Westerners have studied the vibrations produced by Gayatri and have found that when it is accurately recited, as it is written in the Vedas, luminosity is emitted in circular form.”
La Gayatri is synonymous of Truth. The scriptures say: “Truth is God, as Wisdom is God. They are both present everywhere, transcending the concept of space and time”. So when you look for God and you want to see Him, you should look inside of you.
